Beyond endless self-improvement

Much of life is organized around doing: achieving, controlling, improving, securing, and presenting a coherent self to the world. Those efforts have their place. But they can also obscure the more basic miracle that you are here at all—and the possibility that your deepest identity is not the defended, separate self you spend so much energy maintaining.

This work explores what becomes possible when you loosen that grip: when you relate more lightly to the story of “me,” value your existence more than your achievements, and experience yourself as participating in a reality that is sacred, alive, and larger than any individual identity.

I use spiritual guidance and spiritual coaching for this one nonclinical service. Guidance emphasizes contemplation and understanding; coaching helps embody insight in your practices, choices, relationships, and daily life. Some people also use terms such as spiritual consultation or religious consultation for this kind of individual support. Here, those terms refer to the same one-to-one guidance service—not the separate project-based consultation offered to organizations, researchers, educators, and creators.

What we might explore together

  • Clarifying meaning, purpose, vocation, or direction
  • Exploring faith, doubt, spiritual change, or religious struggle
  • Developing contemplative practices and a more present way of living
  • Integrating a mystical, nondual, psychedelic, or spiritually significant experience
  • Loosening identification with roles, thoughts, achievements, and the separate self
  • Having a healthy relationship with the ego
  • Moving from compulsive doing toward presence, surrender, play, love, service, and self-transcendence
  • Experiencing the sacred as within, among, and through ordinary life
“The ego is a wonderful servant but a terrible master.”

What working together looks like

This service is best suited for people who care about spiritual development, want to become the fullest version of themselves, or have begun to feel that no amount of accomplishment makes them—or their life—feel good enough.

Sessions are held online and are available to people anywhere. Each session lasts 60 minutes and costs $150. You may book a single session or continue for as long as the work remains valuable to you.

What happens in a session?

We will explore your beliefs, worldview, and spiritual development; notice beliefs and behaviors that may be limiting you; and examine your sense of self alongside more expansive and inclusive ways of understanding who you are.

At times, you may be invited to “try on” a different worldview or engage in an exercise between sessions. Later conversations can explore what you noticed, where you felt resistance, and what challenges emerged as you brought these ideas into ordinary life.

The aim is not to eliminate the ego, but to become less bound by it: to hold success and failure more lightly and recognize that your worth is rooted in your being, not in what you achieve.

Spiritually alive. Psychologically grounded.

This is unabashedly spiritual work, but it is not careless work. My approach is informed by graduate studies in psychological science and research on mystical experience as well as doctoral training in clinical psychology and the psychology of religion and spirituality. That background helps me approach unusual experiences, powerful beliefs, suffering, and transformation with curiosity, discernment, ethical clarity, and respect for evidence.

Spiritual guidance and coaching are not counseling or psychotherapy. I am a clinical psychology doctoral student, not an independently licensed psychologist. This service does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and does not establish a psychologist-client relationship.

If your central need involves acute symptoms, trauma treatment, severe impairment, safety concerns, or mental-health diagnosis, a licensed clinician is the right starting point.

Begin with the question that matters most.
